We dined with a large group that ordered a multitude of appetizers, allowing us to sample a variety of dishes. Among them, my top three favorites were the eggplant rolatini and both types of baked clams. The baked clams with prosciutto were unbelievably delicious. I also highly recommend trying the baked Branzino. For dessert, the tiramisu and chocolate ice cream were delightful. The service was impeccable, and the ambiance added to the overall experience. This is undoubtedly a remarkable local establishment, with its decor that has remained untouched over time. It truly embodies the essence of an authentic Italian restaurant.

By chance, we stumbled upon this establishment in the area, and it did not disappoint. I recalled CNN’s recommendation for the best Italian restaurants in NYC, and it lived up to the hype. This place is a classic, taking you back to the old-school era while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. You’d think you were dining alongside mobsters. Highly recommended, and we will definitely return!

Our visit to Bamonte’s followed a Broadway show. We were impressed by the interior decor in the bar area, where we met the hostess for seating. Although we didn’t have a reservation, at 5 pm on that Saturday, they only had beautifully adorned outdoor seating available. Surprisingly, it was cozy and comfortable, despite the outside temperature being in the low 40s. Our waiter, whom I believe was named Anthony, was friendly, attentive, and displayed professionalism in his service. To start, we savored Clams Casino, Fried Zucchini, and Stuffed Mushrooms, all of which were outstanding. We also shared a delightful Arugula salad. For my entree, I indulged in the Veal Scallopini Marsala, which was incredibly mouthwatering. My son opted for Chicken Parmesan, which left him more than satisfied. My wife ordered Linguine with large clams but couldn’t finish it all. Unfortunately, we had no room left for dessert. We also enjoyed a bottle of wine, two Ketel One Martinis, and a Coke, all for less than $300.00, including the tip. We were captivated by the old-fashioned phone booths in the bar area and found the interior to be nostalgically charming. Based on other reviews, there are even more intriguing artifacts to explore inside. We had no trouble finding parking in the area. I wholeheartedly recommend dining here; it’s a delightful experience.

Four of us had dinner here at the end of January 2020. It’s a genuine Italian restaurant in Brooklyn, and we had an absolutely fantastic meal. It truly captures the essence of authentic Italian cuisine. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit to New York in a few months. Great food and great company—what more could one ask for!
